I’m Anna – mom of 3 boys, devoted Christian, and former princess at 3 character companies (local and national). After being in the party industry for over half a decade, I wanted to see princesses that were…well…prettier.
Your fairy godmother
Don’t get me wrong, I think there are some lovely princesses out there, but I had a vision in my head that I just couldn’t shake of princesses so beautiful it’s as if they stepped out of their stories and somehow looked better than I imagined – not just a pretty woman in a nice costume. That was my ‘no-compromise’ factor if I were to hire a princess, and I just couldn’t find anything that reached my fairytale expectations.
Where it started
There was no way to bring my creative visions to life without making them from scratch. I did tons of creative research and came up with brand new techniques to get the visual effects I wanted. Then I started pooling together some cash and spreading out my new sewing projects on our tiny apartment floor as my visions slowly unfolded.
The only problem…
Extravagance comes with a very high price tag and, with one little boy running around, we didn’t have that kind of money to invest in starting a business. I started one costume at a time with second-hand materials as I slowly improved my sewing skills and upgraded materials as finances allowed. Truth be told, we are always in the process of upgrading things because my creative dreams just keep getting better.
Why I love it
The best part is seeing the amazement on peoples faces – young and old – when they see our princesses. You can tell there is a special place in their heart filled with childlike wonder and joy that is being lit up like a wishing star. I always hope it’s a memory they will take with them that will bring them joy for the rest of their life.
